Thunder Bay picked up a win at Great Northern Field, bumping off the Buckhead Bowties, 5-3. Pitcher David Schrattenthaler was a major reason the Northern Lions BC emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Schrattenthaler, now 4-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Thunder Bay now has a record of 22-14 with the win.

In the bottom of the eighth, Thunder Bay catcher António Andrés hit a 2-run single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 5-3, Northern Lions BC.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "It's usually not just one thing."
