Whipp Fashions Shutout Against Voodoo
|
It wasn't easy but the Buckhead Bowties made it look that way.
Starter Millard Whipp shut out the New Orleans Voodoo despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Buckhead Bowties cruised to victory, 5-0. Whipp allowed only 4 hits and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This season Whipp has worked 23.2 innings with 27 strikeouts en route to a 2-0 record and a 1.90 ERA.
