Voodoo Nip Oaks, 4-3
|
The New Orleans Voodoo faced a tough opponent in Oakland pitcher Stewart Telfer, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Oakland Coliseum by a final score of 4-3. Telfer went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Pat Martin recorded the save, his 5th. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for New Orleans.
New Orleans got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Rich Dalzell. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"It feels good to get this one," Dalzell told the New Orleans Daily.
