Fans who gathered at Pittsburgh Grounds saw a good contest between the D.C. Divided and Pittsburgh Kingfishers.
The D.C. Divided topped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Francisco Alhama. Alhama was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Divided. D.C. reliever Patrick Carlson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jared LaBarge absorbed the loss.
Had Alhama not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Alhama hit a run-scoring single. The Divided never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Alhama. "And not try to do too much."
D.C. currently is in 4th place in the Silver League at 41-37.
