Almost There: Toledo On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 9-4 Win
Toledo first baseman Baldomero Avino was the key at Pittsburgh Grounds today, being named player of the game as he powered the Stingers to victory in a critical Game of the Third League Championship. The Stingers took the 9-4 win over the Pittsburgh Kingfishers to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

In the top of the first, Avino pounced on a 2-2 splitter from Zhao-ji Qiu and hit a 3-run home run. It put Toledo on top, 3-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Avino.
