Kingfishers Lose to Knights, 4-1
|
Kingston Township Knights starter Francisco Díaz was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-1. Díaz got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Díaz allowed 1 earned run. Even with the win, the Knights have a dismal 16-32 record.
Ánibal Lima had a big run-scoring double for the Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Kingston Township leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Sjoerd Reynoud and stroked the double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 2-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Knights manager Rayzor Ray. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
