The Pittsburgh Kingfishers defeated the Kingston Township Knights, 5-1, in United States Silver League action at Pittsburgh Grounds, with Pittsburgh pitcher Zhao-ji Qiu named player of the game. The Kingfishers have an impressive 17-10 record.

Naganori Inoue chipped in for Pittsburgh, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the game, the center fielder went 3-5 with 3 singles.
