Knights Lose to Kingfishers, 5-3
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers had to overcome a big game from Kingston Township third baseman Eustacio Tafalla to leave Pittsburgh Grounds with a 5-3 victory. Tafalla went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Kenny Aarnoutse in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Zebulon Vermillion took the loss. The loss drops Kingston Township to 1-2.
The Kingfishers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first. With two out, Rafael Abasto hit a 2-run home run off Zebulon Vermillion, putting Pittsburgh in front, 2-1. For Abasto, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
Abasto attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
