6-2 Mockingbirds Win over Northern Lions BC Evens Season Record
|
With third baseman Jesús Lazcano leading the charge, the Mississippi Mockingbirds defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 6-2, at Magnolia Park. Lazcano, who led the SL in stolen bases with 41 in 2039, went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gary Ashley picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-4. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. Mississippi is in 7th place in the Silver League with a record of 41-41.
Lazcano had a key at-bat for Mississippi early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 16th double of the season and gave Mississippi an early 1-0 lead.
