The Kingston Township Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Horiuchi Tanaka, but the Divided still prevailed, 3-2. Tanaka was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. César Sandoval got the win, improving to 6-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Kingston Township's current losing streak has reached 7 games.
The Divided grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Billy Dotson, who is on pace for 69 RBI this season, hit a 2-run home run off Horiuchi Tanaka, putting D.C. in front, 2-1. For Dotson, it was his 18th home run of the season.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Dotson told the D.C. Daily News.
