Victory Pushes Cattlemen Record to 43-35
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen got a strong performance from pitcher Gustavo Tobías, who stymied the Buckhead offense en route to a 5-1 win at The Cattle Pen. Tobías went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-7. WyDale Curry notched his 1st save in 4 chances.

The Bowties had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cattlemen going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old shortstop Bren Spillane came to the plate. Spillane hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch cutter from Buckhead hurler Dave Becker. It was Spillane's 4th home run of the year.

"We did a lot of things right," said Spillane.

The 'W' lifts Ft. Worth's record to 43-35.
