Knights Top Elite Behind Sims, 2-1

Fans who came to Detroit Stadium watched the Kingston Township Knights and the Detroit Elite fight to the finish.
The Kingston Township Knights did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Elite, 2-1, at Detroit Stadium. Kingston Township pitcher Chase Sims earned player of the game honors. David Blake finished the game for Kingston Township and earned his 13th save.
It was a remarkable effort from Sims, who is one of the team leaders. Sims recorded 5 strikeouts in 8.1 innings while allowing 5 hits. Sims, who is tied for 3rd in the SL with a 2 complete games, moves to 7-3 on the year with 62 strikeouts.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Sims. "Successful pitchers do it."
With the victory, the Knights record now stands at 33-36.
