The Detroit Elite knocked off the Kingston Township Knights, 9-8, at Detroit Stadium. Jack McCusker, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Detroit won. The center fielder was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Detroit reliever Salim Fakhir got the win, raising his record to 2-4. Jacob Messer was tagged with the loss. At 30-38, the Elite are currently 9th in the Silver League.

Detroit took a 9-8 lead on Amon-Ra St. Brown's 66th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which St. Brown hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kingston Township pitcher Jacob Messer visibly frustrated.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray. "But we decided not to take it."
