Almost There: Montana On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 2-1 Win
|
The Montana Pandas moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the San Mateo Dirty Reds on the road at Lang Park by a score of 2-1. Pandas left-hander Pavle Simic was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Pandas a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Montana used a timely hit from Jon Moon to get the win. The pinch hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pandas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Moon called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
