Dirty Reds Deal Northern Lions BC 7-2 Setback
|
The exploits of catcher Robby Long helped the San Mateo Dirty Reds defeat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 7-2. Long was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan Moreno was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Urs Ehles picked up the save, his 8th.
Walker Ragland was 2 for 3 with 2 singles for San Mateo. In the bottom of the fourth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Ragland delivered for the Dirty Reds. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put San Mateo on top, 3-2.
