Billy Goats Reel Off Another Win
|
The Colorado Billy Goats defeated the Kingston Township Knights, 4-3, at Grazing Hills today. Leading the charge for Colorado was center fielder Matt Méndez. He was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Francisco Rivas picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-2. He struck out 4 in 5.1 innings. Magnus Belli closed it out for his 15th save.
With Colorado leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Méndez hit a fastball from Chase Sims for a run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Billy Goats ahead, 4-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary. "It's usually not just one thing."
The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Billy Goats.
