Lighthouse Lose to Cattlemen, 5-4
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen stopped the Long Island Lighthouse, 5-4, at The Cattle Pen. The Cattlemen got a big game from Tippi Degré, who went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ft. Worth reliever Sima Babic picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Nolan Howard absorbed the loss. Getting the save was Blair Wright, his 3rd.
The Cattlemen got a big at-bat from catcher Omer Yurtseven. For the game, Yurtseven went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Ft. Worth a 5-4 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
Ft. Worth has now won 3 in a row.
