Dirty Reds Lose, 3-1, at The Lighthouse
Long Island Lighthouse starter Greg Hodge was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 3-1. Long Island reliever Liam Thomson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Sylvain Richard was saddled with the loss. The save went to Carlos Rodríguez, his 4th this season.

Carlos Mendoza had a big run-scoring single for the Lighthouse in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Long Island leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Urs Ehles and stroked the single to right. It was his 24th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lighthouse ahead, 3-1.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Long Island manager Michael Esposito.

With the win, Long Island elevates its record to 9-10.
