Mungus goes 4-for-4, Bowties Move to 6-2
|
With third baseman Hugh Mungus leading the charge, the Buckhead Bowties defeated the Long Island Lighthouse, 7-1, at 5 Paces Park. Mungus, who finished 3rd in the SL in home runs with 32 last year, went 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jong-yong Ha picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 2-0. The Bowties, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.
With Buckhead leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Mungus hit a fastball from Greg Hodge for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Bowties ahead, 7-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Mungus.
