Hoaloha Slaps 5 Hits
|
Ft. Worth first baseman Semo Hoaloha went down swinging at The Cattle Pen today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Cattlemen fell, 7-5.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Hoaloha said after his 5-for-9 performance against the Buckhead Bowties. "No offense meant to Buckhead, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the first baseman's improvements, saying Hoaloha spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Hoaloha agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Semo Hoaloha singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, doubled in the 10th, flied out in the 12th, struck out in the 15th, struck out in the 18th and singled in the 21st.
This season in 6 games, Hoaloha has hit at a .357 clip with 10 hits, no home runs, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
