Knights End van Claveren's Streak Wednesday, September 18th, 2041 The Kingston Township Knights did something to Jonas van Claveren no team had done for the last 22 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Lighthouse, who came away with the 4-0 victory at Cloverdale Legion Park. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 27-year-old second baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." This season van Claveren has hit at a .377 clip with 82 RBIs, 16 home runs and 82 runs scored. |
