3L News: Draft Pool Revealed
Thursday, December 26th, 2041
Menard's Third League divulged the 2041 list of eligible draftees today. It got little play in BNN coverage and why should it? Most players drafted in thirty days won't be on a big league club for years, if at all. Some will languish listlessly at the minor league level. Others will suffer a series of misfortunes, never quite making their mark, but always wowing scouts with their potential. And yet, some lucky team will draw a needle out of a haystack, send him off to the minors and forget about him for a while, only to realize they've got a Hall of Famer on their hands.
At any rate, teams now have thirty days to scout the draft pool prior to the draft. The Transactions page also gets a new section dedicated to the pool.
The top players available (in no particular order) seem to be: 1. Kyle Greene, 21 year-old RHP out of college. 2. Tim Chuter, 18 year-old RHP out of high-school. 3. Nathan May, 18 year-old RHP out of high-school. 4. Jeremy Harness, 19 year-old RHP out of college. 5. Ed Emery, 18 year-old LHP out of high-school. 6. Joseph Ferguson, 22 year-old RHP out of college. 7. Conor March, 18 year-old RHP out of high-school. 8. George Crane, 21 year-old RHP out of college. 9. Chad Holland, 18 year-old SS out of high-school. 10. Jody Lewis, 22 year-old RHP out of college.
You can find the draft pool in the league transactions screen (league menu).

van Oosterom Visits Children at Cancer Treatment Center
Thursday, December 26th, 2041
Grey Wolves shortstop Phil van Oosterom took time out from his busy schedule today to visit a local children's cancer treatment center. van Oosterom signed autographs and took pictures with many of the young patients. He even gave several of them caps, jerseys, and gloves. "Just seeing the smiles on these kids' faces, knowing what they've gone through, it just warms your heart", said a beaming van Oosterom. When asked who his favorite player was, one little boy smiled broadly and exclaimed, "Phil van Oosterom!"
