Grosjean, Mejía Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, September 18th, 2041 After an intense confrontation, both the Rocketeers Alain Grosjean and the Piranhas Román Mejía were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Seattle-Panama City game. Alain Grosjean will miss 2 games, while Román Mejía was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Alain Grosjean commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." This season Grosjean is swinging the bat at a .268 pace. He has hit 23 home runs and scored 54 times, while driving in 76. His on-base percentage is .287 and he has played in 100 games. Up to now Mejía has recorded a record of 8-6. In 21 starts he has fanned 73 batters in 120 innings with a 5.40 ERA. |
