The Long Island starter rose to the occasion at Ebbetts Field today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Lighthouse to a crucial 5-0 victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers. Hodge threw 7 innings of shutout ball as the Lighthouse won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2042.

The Lighthouse benefited from a costly error in the top of the first. With Quan Easterling at bat and Long Island leading 1-0, the Brooklyn miscue allowed Long Island to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Hodge.
