Pivotal Game Goes to Host Dodgers, 3-2
The Brooklyn Dodgers moved to within one game of the Round 2043 today, downing the visiting Long Island Lighthouse at Ebbetts Field by a score of 3-2. Dodgers right-hander Rod Watts was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Dodgers a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2042.

Bill Chaundler, who finished 3rd in the 3L in doubles with 28 in 2036, aided the Brooklyn cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3.

"Every team in baseball loses," Lighthouse manager Michael Esposito said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
