Long Island and Montana duked it out at The Lighthouse and the Lighthouse came out victorious.
Long Island Lighthouse starter Valentin Calhamar was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Montana Pandas, 4-3. Calhamar got the win, improving to 9-9. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Calhamar allowed 3 earned runs. Carlos Rodríguez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 17 save opportunities.
Nathan Pruitt drove in one run for Long Island. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Phil Soto. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Long Island skipper Michael Esposito. "I can't complain."
Long Island has now won 5 games in a row.
