Kingfishers Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Kingston Township
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers stopped the Kingston Township Knights, 6-4, at Pittsburgh Grounds. The Kingfishers got a big game from Yeow-whye Zhu, who was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Pittsburgh, now 58-41, holds third place in the Third League.
Gerrie Bond tagged a home run off Francisco Díaz in the bottom of the sixth. His solo blast put the Kingfishers on top, 5-4. In all, Bond had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Zhu told reporters after the game.
