Piranhas Stun Lakers, 4-3
|
The Panama City Piranhas topped the Echo Park Lakers by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Carsello Scruggins. Scruggins went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Piranhas on the day. The 'W' lifts Panama City's record to 54-45.
Had Blaze Alexander not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Alexander hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Piranhas.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Scruggins said.
