Victory Over Stingers Takes Kingston Township to 47-30
|
Kingston Township played host to Toledo at the friendly confines of Cloverdale Legion Park.
The Kingston Township Knights picked up a win at Cloverdale Legion Park, knocking off the Toledo Stingers, 3-1. Starting pitcher Chase Sims played a key role in the triumph. Sims got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Sims allowed 1 earned run. David Blake earned the save for Kingston Township, his 17th.
Eustacio Tafalla, the Kingston Township third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-1, Knights. For the game, Tafalla was 1-3 with a walk.
"This team is on a mission," said Sims, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
The Knights have an impressive 47-30 record.
