Lakers Hang 5-2 Loss on Lighthouse
|
The Echo Park Lakers stymied the Long Island Lighthouse, 5-2, at The Lighthouse. Philip Todd, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Echo Park. Echo Park reliever Felipe Filipe was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Greg Hodge. Ed Abood was credited with the save for Echo Park, his 7th of the season.
With Echo Park leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Todd came up to bat against Long Island pitcher Greg Hodge. Todd hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season put the Lakers on top, 5-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Todd told the Echo Park Times.
Echo Park, at 21-54, sits in last place in the Third League.
