Hansen Shines in Piranhas Win
|
The Panama City Piranhas defeated the Oakland Oaks, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Kieran Hansen, who went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Román Mejía got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Earning his 4th save of the year was Ramón Barrueco.
Hansen had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Matt Dunn, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Piranhas a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Hansen.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager DAshley GoAs.
