The Montana Pandas knocked off the Echo Park Lakers, 9-7, at Panda Park. DeMarvion Overshown, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Montana won. The designated hitter went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Pandas now have a record of 25-34.

In the bottom of the 7th, pinch hitter Gene Ricks gave Montana the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Pandas had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Echo Park pitcher Craig Wash changed that -- and Montana went on to win.

Ricks called the triumph "a good team win."
