|
Long Island Lighthouse starter Valentin Calhamar was in fine form against the Echo Park Lakers at LA Forum, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Carlos Rodríguez earned the save, his 3rd, for the Lighthouse. The slumping Lakers have lost 14 straight.
Long Island used the timely hitting of Myles Brundidge to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Brundidge told the Long Island Observer. "Whatever it takes."
