Stingers Suffer 7-4 Setback
|
The Oakland Oaks topped the Toledo Stingers by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Norbert Ingalsbe. Ingalsbe went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Oaks on the day. Cory bin Nasir al Din picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 10-1. Mason Saunders was tagged with the loss. Oakland is 23-30 and Toledo, with the loss, 32-21.
Gabriel Montoya tagged a home run off Mason Saunders in the bottom of the first. His 2-run blast put the Oaks on top, 2-0. In all, Montoya had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Montoya told a Oakland Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
