Knights Top Oaks, 6-3
|
Oakland left fielder Gabriel Montoya had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Montoya belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Kingston Township beat the Oaks, 6-3. Montoya was named the player of the game despite the loss. Francisco Díaz was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. David Blake earned the save, his 12th, for the Knights.
It could have been a different outcome for Kingston Township, had it not been for Glenn Curtis, the 28-year old second baseman . Curtis contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Kingston Township up, 3-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Curtis.
Kingston Township has 3 straight wins, Oakland 3 straight losses.
