Lakers Lose Again, 8-4, to Dodgers
|
Echo Park got a terrific game from left fielder Philip Todd. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Brooklyn, 8-4. Todd was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Brooklyn starter Rod Watts was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. The Lakers, at 15-35, have lost 8 in a row.
Abraham Koen had a chance to do some damage in the top of the ninth. With Echo Park trailing 8-3, Echo Park had the bases loaded. Koen grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Echo Park would not finish the comeback.
