Piranhas Shut Out Athletic Club KC
|
Panama City right-hander Masahiro Sakei pitched his team to a shutout win, 4-0, over the Athletic Club KC. Sakei got the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Sakei allowed no earned runs. Jonathan Lentz nailed down his 5th save.
Panama City took a 4-0 lead on Brant Thigpen's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Thigpen hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Athletic Club KC pitcher Suezo Amano visibly frustrated.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thigpen told the Panama City Citizen.
The Piranhas bumped their record to 26-16 with this latest triumph.
