Late Rally by Knights Secures Win
|
The Knights had to overcome a fine effort from Panama City pitcher Masahiro Sakei to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Cloverdale Legion Park. Sakei went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win was Dale Snider's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jonathan Lentz took the loss for Panama City. The Piranhas, now 23-14, have lost 4 in a row.
Daniel McCoy, who is tied for 7th in the 3L with a .406 on-base percentage, contributed to the Kingston Township win with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"This place sure got loud," said Rayzor Ray, the Kingston Township manager.
