Dodgers Get One-Run Win at Kingston Township
|
Getting a good performance from center fielder Koryusai Ohayashi, the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Kingston Township Knights, 7-6. Ohayashi was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Dodgers. Brooklyn reliever Ramón Granados was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Francisco Díaz. The Dodgers are now 16-15, while the Knights fall to 19-12.
Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Tony Wonder to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Wonder told the Brooklyn Daily News.
