Knights Beat Kingfishers, 7-5

Pittsburgh got a terrific game from second baseman Krystof Melichar. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kingston Township, 7-5. Melichar was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Kingston Township, at 18-11, occupies second place in the Third League.
Kingston Township relied on the hitting of Ed Mellor to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Knights on top, 3-0. For the game, Mellor had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Mellor. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
