The Kingston Township Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Currito Fonseca, but the Grey Wolves still prevailed, 4-2. Fonseca was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Ray Skipworth was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The Grey Wolves are now 10-17, while the Knights fall to 17-10.
Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Robbie Brendle to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Brendle said after the game.
