Lighthouse Subdue Brooklyn, 4-2
|
The Long Island Lighthouse picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Rook Ellington played a key role in the triumph. Ellington went the distance for Long Island. He gave up 2 earned runs on 7 hits. The Dodgers drop to 7-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2041 season.
Nathan Pruitt put Long Island in front, 3-0, when he took Maverick Handley downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the top of the second. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Pruitt said after the game.
