Piranhas Bang Out 8-7 Win Versus Pittsburgh
The Panama City Piranhas powered past the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 8-7, at Pittsburgh Grounds. Carsello Scruggins was 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Masahiro Sakei was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 1 strikeout. Barney Starr locked down his 2nd save.

Scruggins had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Pierre Delecto, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Piranhas a 5-2 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Scruggins.

"I like the roll we're on," said Panama City manager Brian Talamante.

The Piranhas, now 11-4, have hit the ground running this season.
