Piranhas Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
The Panama City Piranhas beat the Toledo Stingers, 5-3, at Pacesetter Park. The Piranhas got a fine performance from first baseman Blaze Alexander, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Dylan Grandjean earned the win for Panama City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 0. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Panama City is off to a hot start at 5-0.
It could have been a different outcome for Panama City, had it not been for Hyeon-cheong Kim, the 33-year old third baseman . Kim contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Panama City up, 5-3.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Kim. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
