Behind a solid performance from first baseman Blaze Alexander, the Panama City Piranhas defeated the Toledo Stingers, 9-3. Alexander was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles for the Piranhas. With their winning streak at 4, the Piranhas have raced to a strong start this season.

Panama City relied on the bat of Lupo Cotto to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Piranhas ahead, 2-0. For the game, Cotto had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

In comments to the Panama City Citizen, Cotto admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
