Irving Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1
The Irving Blue Sox moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Casper Ghosts at Blue Sox Ballpark by a score of 13-2. Blue Sox first baseman Nikolai Volkoff was named player of the game after he went 4 for 4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win gives the Blue Sox a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.

Pat Kramer swatted a grand slam home run for Irving in the bottom of the first. The third baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 5.

"Every team in baseball loses," Ghosts manager Mark Harrison said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Irving. The scheduled starters for the game are Wilson Tamayo for the Casper Ghosts and Joe Holland for the the Irving Blue Sox.
