McJannett Goes Off, But Rapiers Win
The Ithaca Fighting Imps got a superb performance from shortstop Donald McJannett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Durham. The Rapiers won the game, 10-6. In spite of the loss, McJannett was named the player of the game. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Pellervo Soisalo earned the win to go to 4-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Durham has now won 6 straight, while the Fighting Imps have lost 3 in a row.

In the top of the first, Bearooz Yacoobi pounced on a forkball from Greg O'Day and hit a run-scoring double. It gave Durham a quick 1-0 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Yacoobi said after the game.
