Late Rally by Fighting Imps Secures Win
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps took Irving pitcher Alex Calhoun's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Blue Sox Ballpark. The final score had Ithaca getting past the Blue Sox, 6-3. Calhoun went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 1. Ithaca reliever Reid Myers picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Alex Calhoun shouldered the loss. Jimmy Whitney sewed up the save, his 4th.
Alaska Abney made it 3-2, Ithaca, in the top of the eighth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Fighting Imps win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Abney told the Ithaca News.
Their 32-50 record puts the Fighting Imps last in the Silver AA.
