Victory Over Hops Takes Casper to 51-30
The Casper Ghosts faced a tough opponent in Yakima pitcher Arturo Santiago, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hops Park by a final score of 6-2. Santiago went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Dave Shepard, the winner, improved to 7-4. He held the Hops to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Casper leads the Silver AA by 7 games.

The result might have been different for Casper, had it not been for Hjalmar Bisseling, the 24-year old left fielder . Bisseling stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put Casper up, 5-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
