Rapiers Come Back Late, Nip Farmers
|
Durham withstood an impressive performance by Lancaster left fielder Keaton Kringlen to defeat the Farmers, 4-3, at Rapiers Ballpark. Kringlen went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Durham has now won 3 in a row.
Had Marvin Strickland not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Strickland hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Rapiers.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Lancaster manager Juan Rodríguez.
